The Child Sponsorship Program expanded sharing Hope farther than a meal. It allows them a school uniform which allows them to attend school but most importantly tells the child and those around them that someone believes and has invested in this child most often warding off those who might prey upon them. It also provides Hope packs which are meals that go home with them on Fridays to help them make it through the weekend. Their home typically do not have food for even the very next meal. It also provides a Christmas and Birthday present but most importantly, it provides Hope which transcends time and distance.
Once selected, children are allowed to be part of the program for a year after their school experience terminates. This may either be by quitting school (though we try everything possible to get them to return), graduating high school or finishing University. Keep in mind that schools are different here in the fact that the ages that correlate to grades maybe significantly different here than in the US. It is not uncommon to find an older child in a lower level of grade based upon their ability rather than age so your sponsored child may be a different age and grade level that what you are accustomed. We closely monitor our children and their progress offering tuition and additional helps as needed.
